Since the beginning of July this year, the Bourgas beach is a real stampede of Hollywood heroes. Charlie Chaplin, Jack Sparrow, Shrek, Harry Potter, King Kong and many other favorites’ heroes are attracting numerous visitors to the seaside town.

Perhaps the second edition this year of the awards “Oscar”? And in Bulgaria? Oh no – 25 huge sand sculptures, carved on the surface of the whole 5 acres, are another attraction of the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, which will continue until mid-September.“Alien,” “Gladiator,” “Star Wars” “Avatar,” “Pirates of the Caribbean,” “Lord of the Rings” … These are just some of the 19 Hollywood productions, for  the figures have worked 22 sculptures from 8 countries: Bulgaria, Russia, Poland, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Latvia, the Netherlands and as far away as Australia.
The figures of famous movie characters are carved in less than a month and did not face the vagaries of weather. They are made of sand, but mixed with clay and reinforced with integrated wood and iron.  There were used over 3,200 tons of sand!
The exhibition is made as part of the second most popular festival in the seaside town after the Spirit of Bourgas. Only twenty days after its opening this unique art forum has attracted nearly 20,000 visitors.
