London Tourism Exhibition And New Winter Season

From 5 to 8 Nov. the annual Tourism Fair WTM-2012 (World Travel Market 2012) was held in London. The Bulgarian national stand in London presented 25 participants, including tour operators, hotels and municipalities – candidates in the international competition for European Capital of Culture.

The focus of the Bulgarian participation was linked to the upcoming winter season and with the development of two major segments in the industry – Spa services and cultural tourism.

For the coming ski season, tour operators and hoteliers are cautious in their forecasts, although compared to last year, early bookings from Russia and Britain for Christmas holidays and ski holidays observed nearly 10 percent growth. These two markets are essential for winter tourism in Bulgaria, but we expect significant augmentation of ski lovers from neighboring Balkan countries including Greece, Serbia and Macedonia. The winter season is expected to be opened in mid-December.
