A Bulgarian Drone Video Won the NYC Drone Film Festival
The Bulgarian short film 2D Run won the top prize in the prestigious International Drone Film Festival in New York City. The video is created by Ilko Iliev and Marin Kafedjiiski in 20 days in November and December 2016.
In the short movie, Ilko Iliev goes around different places in Bulgaria while he shows his freerunning and parkour skills. The freerunner jumps up on blocks’ roofs and abandoned buildings; runs nude through snowbound meadows; swims in the Black Sea in December; rides surf in city canals, and drops down with a rope from the Buzludzha monument.
The unique video’s effect
was created by the photographer and designer Marin Kafedjiiski who captured the Iliev’s tricks from the air, as makes an impression that the freerunner is a hero in a 2D computer game.
The video, which is part of the both co-project MMP (Mixed Motion Project), received global popularity. Frames from the short film were used in Samsung’s add, broadcasted during the Oscars’ ceremony.
The Bulgarian visual drone project
received awards Best in Show and X-Factor on the prestigious International Drone Film Festival in New York City. The winners from all over the world took the prizes in the categories News/Documentary, Narrative, Architecture, and etc.
